Like a Tree

Besides going on home visits and to the carepoints, I also spend my time here helping to lead a bible study of women (roughly 30 and up) as well as of girls (high school through 20’s). Last week in our time with the women they went around the circle and all gave a testimony. Not a testimony in the sense of this is how I can to know the Lord, but instead of how the Lord has been working in their lives and what he is teaching them. The women sang, shared scripture and praised the Lord. These are amazing women who through all the struggles in their lives have grown so strong. Their strength is so evident, yet it is not their strength but strength from the Lord himself.

They shared their heart for their children to know the Lord and praise for how he has saved their own lives. They prayed for their sick spouses and praised God for answered prayer requests. I am learning so much from these women and feel so blessed to be able to sit and listen to them. There is so much wisdom and courage in their eyes. I praise the Lord who is doing great things in Swaziland.

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they go right on producing delicious fruit.”

Jeremiah 17: 7-8
